I was first impressed by the prompt response I got to my initial inquiry regarding house inspections done by DNA... read moreI was first impressed by the prompt response I got to my initial inquiry regarding house inspections done by DNA Properties Home Inspections. Once I determined we would use their services and scheduled the inspection, there was follow-up to make sure the time and date were correct. The day of the inspection, we heard from them once again to confirm the appointment. Dan showed up a bit early, introduced himself, and got right to work starting with me pointing out the concerns I had. He did an exterior examination first and then shared what he found before going through the interior, including the basement, of the house. Once he completed that, again he shared his findings before going into the attic. He used his time efficiently and was very thorough. Before leaving he checked to make sure we had no further questions or concerns and told us we should be receiving the written report around 5:00 that afternoon. The report arrived a bit earlier than that and was extremely thorough, including pictures of the areas of concern with arrows helping us to know exactly what he saw. In each case, Dan indicated the severity of the issue and whether it needed immediate attention or not. I had asked for and got recommendations of companies that could address the specific needs. This report will be informing our care and maintenance of our home for the next few years, assuring our home will be safe and retain its value. We are very satisfied with the service we received and will call DNA for another inspection and updated report in the future. read less

I walked through the inspection with him and we discussed any concerns I saw as well as everything he saw. There wasn’t an area that he missed and he explained what needed to be fixed and how to maintain each appliance. I received the inspection report in less than 24 hours. It had pictures, video, detailed information about his findings, suggestions on how to fix it and contacts for people I could call for the services. I rented the home I am buying for 2 years and he found things I want even aware of. I feel so knowledgeable about my home and how to repair and maintain it after his inspection. As Dan found things, he always walked me through the process of explaining why things were not great, how it happened, why it needed to be fixed, and offered a variety of solutions. He estimated how long I could put off repairs as well as what kind of damage to expect, the cost of ALL associated repairs at various intervals, several ways a repair could be made, and how to tell if a contractor is good or shady! He made everything easy to understand, responded quickly to my calls and emails and is very friendly. He was also one of the lower estimates I received.
